A performance that redirects past-present-future into loopy currents and tides and asks us to reflect on our understanding of manmade masses and the waters surrounding them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The performance will be a guided meditation remixing poor special effects with an inflated narrative, deflated movements, familiar pop and an adapted input from the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How deep is your love? We rarely go deeper than our love, deeper into the perpetual blackness. Beyond the reach of the sundial where life does not follow the rules of linearity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They should let us infest these islands like Agua Mala in booming rings of kelp around the pilings. The pilings are showing signs of lost time: The tide that used to indicate the water coming and going are rewinding, giving way for a misplaced vessel snaking through a displaced landmass. If there is a reason for the existence of these mounds it must be found in the present, just as the reason for the wake must be found in the engine of the moving vessel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This work was originally developed and performed by invitation of the Department of Reflection in Miami (FL), where Considered to be Allies were asked to fulfill the role of outside experts in the department’s first edition in a series of nomadic site-responsive programming. Tasked with investigating the famed artificial islands that make up Miami beach and their surrounding water, Considered to be Allies presented their research via two mirrored tours happening simultaneously, one on a trolley bus and another on a small boat. At Art Hub, Considered to be Allies will be tying the hyperlocal perspective to the hyperglobal, by performing their Miami findings while including perspectives to the hyperlocality of Copenhagen and specifically the potential past, present and future of a new man-made landmass: Lynette Holmen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
ABOUT CONSIDERED TO BE ALLIES<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Considered to be Allies is an artistic duo consisting of Mie Frederikke Fischer Christensen (DK, 1989) and Margaux Parillaud (FR, 1989). In 2014 they graduated Cum laude from De Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam with a joint project. They have worked together since. Considered to be Allies exhibits internationally. During the summer of 2022 they can be experienced in Denmark at Art Hub on 2 June and at Rudolph Tegners Museum 19 June \u2013 14 August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Artist statement:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We are a French\/Danish artist duo and have since 2014 worked under the collaborative name Considered to be Allies. Our practice is dynamically interchanging between our individual experience of the world and our mutual relationship. We consider our work a political practice that merges our dualities in one unified entity, deliberately working against the contemporary polarizing of society. Our work is fascinated by mediation and asks questions about how our perception of reality and opinion making is influenced by history, mythology, pop culture as well as the \u201ccollective memory\u201d of the subconsciousness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Often we use familiar clich\u00e9s and tropes as an entrance point. These become the visible and tangible surface symptoms of the underlying problems we wish to address.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Departing from the safe and comfortable, we journey through circular structures of infinite loops and holes. Slowly, we\u00b4re pushed out of orbit until we land in an absurd and distorted reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Here, we\u00b4re positioned just far enough from the everyday to reflect on it from a distance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In order to stay grounded and not completely lose our heads in the clouds, we root our practice in a materiality and remain curious of the tactile and uncontrollable properties of materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is expressed through costumes, sets, props and the installation that we consider equal to our conceptual departure point. We wish to explore the role of materials in creating new stories and of reshaping the assumed fabric of space and time and we wish to create new connections between the spiritual, the mysterious and the material life of our daily lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
