During the lunch Mesayer will in conversation with Michael Christoffersen from Brigade talk about the creation of her exhibition \u201cThe People Who Came From The Sea\u201d on show at Brigade from 20 January. Mesayer has created the exhibition in collaboration with Galvin Harrison + T.N.G.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>~<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you would like to attend the lunch, please email us at rsvp@arthubcopenhagen.dk no later than Monday 24 January at 12 pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are a limited number of seats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The conversation will be in Danish and a vegetarian meal will be served.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>~<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ABOUT &#8220;THE PEOPLE WHO CAME FROM THE SEA&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Exhibition period: 20 January \u2013 19 Februar 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Opening: 20 January 4 pm<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Location: Brigade, Vesterbrogade 75, 1620 K\u00f8benhavn V.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More information: https:\/\/www.brigade.site\/news<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ABOUT ELIYAH MESAYER (b.1987)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Graduate from the Jutland Art Academy 2020. A focal point for Mesayer\u2019s work is the fictional state \u2018Illiyeen\u2019, a state for the stateless, which both engages Mesayer\u2019s heritage, but also seeks a form of alchemical change by artistically balancing itself on the dynamic threshold between reality and fiction as well as fact and imagination. It is the language of alchemy understood in its very broadest sense, including and inviting its audiences to become part of the alchemical reactions themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ABOUT MICHAEL CHRISTOFFERSEN (b.1977)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Artistic Director at Gallery Brigade in Copenhagen. Co-founder of Brigade\u2019s international residency programme in Havana, Cuba. Previously chief curator at HEART \u2013 Herning Museum of Contemporary Art, gallery director in New York and worked at institutions in London, including at the Royal Academy of Arts.
