Every Thursday for four weeks, visual artist and PhD student at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Kristoffer Raasted, has been broadcasting his radio program New Connections: Queering the Radio Voice live from Art Hub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With the radio program, Raasted has among other things been examining the relationship between body and voice, especially our normative perceptions of which voices \u2013 anatomical as well as synthetic \u2013 are connected to which bodies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In this fifth and last episode of the program, we flip the format so that Kristoffer Raasted will take the role as guest, and independent curator Anne K\u00f8lb\u00e6k Iversen and Lars Bang Larsen, artistic advisor at Art Hub, will be the hosts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Together they will engage in a conversation about the process and planning of Raasted\u2019s radio programs, and the methods and themes that have been explored here in connection with his practiced-based PhD. Art Hub\u2019s program Testing Ground, which the radio program has been a part of, will also be discussed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The radio program will be live-streamed via Art Hub\u2019s website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
ABOUT KRISTOFFER RAASTED<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Artist Kristoffer Raasted is educated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2018 with a supplementary MFA in art theory from the Institute of Artistic Research and exchange semesters at \u00c9cole Nationale Sup\u00e9rieure des Beaux-Arts and Faculdade de Belas-Artes Ulisboa, and an internship period at Issue Project Room in New York.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Raasted conducts artistic research in the intersectional field between sound, performance, and installations and has commenced the practice-based PhD project at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in september 2020. The PhD stipend is granted by the Novo Nordisk Foundation and is organized in a collaboration between the University of Copenhagen and The Academy of Fine Arts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Raasted\u2019s PhD project, New Connections: Queering the Radio Voice, is based on a comparative reading of Judith Butler\u2019s Undoing Gender and Giorgio Agamben\u2019s Language and Death. Both thinkers refer in their books to Hegel\u2019s concept of negativity and to speech theory, and it is the project\u2019s ambition \u2013 through podcasts of conversations, works, and sound experiments \u2013 to work with the two thinkers\u2019 understandings of the performative and the voice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kristoffer Raasted perceives his practice-based research project as artistic thinking rather than \u2018artistic research\u2019 \u2013 a less result-oriented and more process-based approach to basic research. ABOUT TESTING GROUND<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The project of Kristoffer Raasted is part of Art Hub\u2019s program Testing Ground, which is a \u2018test site\u2019 that gives artistic researchers the opportunity to test ideas and methods in practice. A forum where artistic processes can meet and be tested in front of an audience or in front of colleagues.
