At this Free Lunch event, Francis Patrick Brady Francis Patrick Brady will discuss the theme of play and participation within his own art practice but also how the politics of participation is perceived and received within the Nordic art scene. How are the tools of play and fantasy used within contemporary society? Can “serious play” be a motivator for political change? What is the point in play and participation?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There will be a short presentation and a play-through of the artist made worldbuilding card game DOHL followed by a conversation with fellow art practitioners and curators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ABOUT THE ARTIST<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Francis Patrick Brady is an artist living and working in Malm\u00f6 Sweden whilst also working in Copenhagen and London. He graduated from the MFA Critical & Pedagogical Studies at Konsth\u00f6gskola Malm\u00f6 in 2017. He is currently in residence at InterArtsCentre (SE) and has presented projects recently at ALT-CPH (DK), SIGNAL (SE), Moderna Museet (SE), PLX (SE), S\u00d8 gallery (DK), Delfi (SE), TURF projects (UK), Turner Contemporary (UK). He has projects upcoming at Vermilion Sands (DE) and Copenhagen Contemporary (DE).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He is co-founder and curator at \u2018Celsius Projects\u2019 gallery in Malm\u00f6. He is also co-organiser of the art collective \u2018Union Group\u2019 who have a focus on Roleplay, VR, consent safety, and immersive practices. He is associate lecturer at Chelsea College of Art at University of London and regularly teaches workshops at other art universities and institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
