Art Hub Copenhagen Thoravej 29, 2400 København NV

Come meet our Goethe-Institut Dänemark resident artist Johanna Gonschorek on 26 March, 17:00–18:00!

What happens when fluid and concrete material are combined? In her practise, Johanna Gonschorek (DE) explores this tension with clear references to everyday life and feminist discourse.

Join us for a drink to mark the conclusion of her two-month residency at AHC, where Gonschorek will present her artistic practice and working process, connecting everyday, historical, and political contexts through sculptural and multimedia approaches, followed by a Q&A.

ABOUT JOHANNA GONSCHOREK
Johanna Gonschorek, born in 1989, lives and works in Munich. She studied fine arts, cultural sciences, and art pedagogy in Munich and Athens. Through her art, Johanna Gonschorek aims to connect different levels of perception, making contexts tangible in a variety of ways. She is interested in everyday situations, such as public places, discourse, and social spaces, as well as historical and political contexts and working with archives.

The research-based approach, which combines sculptural and multimedia means, allows a great deal of freedom in terms of form and content. This is often based on feminist issues. By intertwining aesthetic and content-related levels and simultaneously directing them in several directions, spatial situations arise that, on the one hand, can be quickly classified and grasped cognitively through the use of clear references and, on the other hand, provide plenty of room for viewers to explore on their own.

ABOUT THE GOETHE-INSTITUT
The Goethe-Institut is a non-profit organization and a registered part of the Federal Republic of Germany’s cultural institute, which is active worldwide. The Institute promotes knowledge of the German language abroad and fosters international cultural cooperation. The basis for the Goethe-Institut’s activities in Denmark is the cultural agreement of 18 June 1974, concluded between the Government of the Kingdom of Denmark and the Federal Republic of Germany.
