Public Programmes

One of AHC’s central tasks is to increase awareness of visual artistic practice and to qualify and nuance the public conversation about contemporary art. We do this, among other things, with a number of public programmes of exhibitions, film screenings, talks, performance evenings and other communication formats, which invite experimental and perspectival meetings between art and the public.

EXHIBITIONS

AHC works to offer artists and curators support to develop their practice, among other things by facilitating exhibition possibilities both nationally and internationally – and in that way help to support and disseminate contemporary art.

FREE LUNCH SERIES

On selected Tuesdays, we invite everyone interested to a free lunch and an informal conversation with a professional visual artist. The artist is invited to talk about their practice, current research or new ideas – and to explore the issues that are part of every art practice – often in conversation with invited guests.

BAR X

Offering a social, atmospheric setting for an intimate art experience, AHC invites an artist or art collective to present or perform an artwork, followed by free bar and DJ set.

ART HUB FILM CLUB

With Art Hub Film Club, AHC invites you to enter the darkness of the cinema and casts a spotlight on the essential role film, video and the moving image play in contemporary art. Each season, the program is presented and curated by a selected artist.

PUBLICATIONS

AHC explore the many voices of contemporary art in three series, respectively Interview, Research and Other. Our publications grow out of collaborations and conversations we have with different people and communities, in the form of theory, narratives entangled with art, and texts derived from artistic doing and thinking.

ART POD

Art Pod is an art podcast, who will take the listener into the intricate engine room of art. For instance, Art Pod can react to the current news flow and the dominant thoughts and ideas of the day and ask what research is being done at universities when they say they are researching something with art.

PARTLY

Partly is the initiative of artist Ed Atkins and author Steven Zultanski and was originally based at the bar and cultural venue Sorte Firkant in the Nørrebro neighborhood of Copenhagen. In the context of AHC, Partly’s ambition is to promote dialogue and a stronger sense of community between the literature, music and art scene in Copenhagen and internationally.
