Lars Mathisen’s practice unfolds across media such as collage, film, photography, sound, sculpture, drawing, text and video in ‘socio-cubist’ installations or as smaller montages or serial collages, most often around power relations between individuals, the outside world and society.
Mathisen has exhibited in Denmark and internationally including in Athens, Barcelona, Bergen, Berlin, Brest, Gdansk, Malmö, New York, Sao Paulo & Vienna.
Mathisen’s works are in private and public collections, including ARoS Aarhus Art Museum, KUNSTEN Museum of Modern Art and the Danish Arts Foundation.
