Free Lunch Series

Jens Settergren

August 25, 2020, 14:00–15:30PM, Halmtorvet 27, 1700 Copenhagen V

Jens Settergren (born 1989, based in Copenhagen) is concerned with the production of collective imaginaries, contemporary mythologies, desires, and visual culture. His works reflect how these subjects are expressed in images, objects, and language. Working individually and collectively, he explores correlations between technology, nature, cognition, and power.

This conversation will begin with a short presentation by the artist of the project “The GPS Will Take Me Home” (2019), which will be the starting point for a conversation about machines, emotions, cyborgs, and artistic strategies for dealing with the changes of our aesthetic and emotional sensibilities posed by current technological developments.

Conversation partners are Uffe Isolotto and Ragnhild May.

If interested, RSVP to info@arthubcopenhagen.dk

A limited number of seats are available, offered on a first come, first served basis.

Please notice, the conversation will be in Danish. A vegetarian menu will be served.

ABOUT FREE LUNCH SERIES

Art Hub is dedicated to creating contact and interaction among younger artists. Every other Tuesday we invite the art world and public to a free lunch where they can enjoy an informal conversation with a young, professional visual artist. The artist is invited to talk about their practice, current research or new ideas – and to explore the issues that are part of every art practice.

Art Hub : gives time, space and voices to artistic experimentation
