AHC x Supervising Artistic & Practice-based Research : Publishing for Urgency : Janneke Adema

20 August 2024 10.30 AM - 11.30 AM
Art Hub Copenhagen Thoravej 29, 2400 København NV

Over the course of one week in August, AHC will – in collaboration with the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts,  Department of Arts and Cultural Studies, University of Copenhagen and PASS (Centre for Practice-based Art Studies at Copenhagen University) – co-host an international symposium focused on the field of artistic research.

To start off the week, we invite you to take part in a lecture by Dr Janneke Adema on Tuesday 20 August at AHC.

Dr Janneke Adema is a cultural and media theorist working in the fields of (book) publishing and digital culture and an Associate Professor at the Centre for Post digital Cultures (Coventry University) where she convenes the post-publishing research strand.

In her research, she explores the future of scholarly communications and experimental forms of knowledge production by incorporating processual and performative publishing, radical open access, post-publishing, scholarly poethics, media studies, book history, cultural studies, and critical theory, and by supporting a variety of scholar-led, not-for-profit publishing projects, including the Radical Open Access Collective, Open Humanities Press, and Post Office Press (POP). Her monograph Living Books. Experiments in the Posthumanities (MIT Press, 2021) is openly available and you can follow her research on openreflections.wordpress.com.
