Need an exit for digital numbness? Go see Session 8 at Room Room

Session 8 poses an urgent question of our time: Is it possible to escape digital control in a world where both our society, identity and relationships are shaped digitally? And how?

Searching for possible exit strategies, Session 8 offers us a space to contemplate our human need for safety and free spaces in a digital age.

Experience Session 8 at Room Room before 14 February 2026!

As AI and algorithms increasingly mediate our encounters with the world and each other, it is probably no exaggeration to say that we are – whether we want to or not – subject to digital control. But what does this mean for who we are? And where did our right to freedom and privacy go?

Session 8 investigates how digital technologies are compromising our right to privacy as well as our ability to form communities. The artworks process how vulnerability and resistance co-exist, while holding space for collectively processing what is lost in a digital age.

Session 8 mediates parts of the artist duo Ghost Agency’s extensive interdisciplinary work with digital security and agency, and gives form to a shared desire for protection and awareness.

ABOUT GHOST AGENCY

Ghost Agency consists of Gro Sarauw (DK) and Anni Garza Lau (MX). Ghost Agency investigates digital surveillance and the loss of privacy in the intersection of situated research and artististic practises. In collaboration with local communities and NGOs for the past two years, the duo has developed strategies and software that can secure collective digital spaces in, among other places, Mexico and the United States-Mexico borderlands.

Ghost Agency is an artistic research project hosted by AHC from 2023 to 2026.

In spring 2026, Ghost Agency will launch the publication Digital Sanctuaries. The book is published by AHC and Archive Books.
