Andrea Büttner (DE)

Artist

Andrea Büttner (b. 1972, Stuttgart) lives and works in Berlin and is Professor of Painting and Drawing, Academy of Fine Arts Munich. Her practice connects art history with social and ethical issues, exploring topics such as poverty, work, community, belief, botany, and philosophy.

Büttner was shortlisted for the 2017 Turner Prize. Recent solo shows include No Fear, No Shame, No Confusion, Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen (K21), Düsseldorf and The Heart of Relations, Kunstmuseum Basel.
