Martin Wendelbo (DK)

Curator

Martin Wendelbo is a curator, editor and cultural producer engaged in international art projects and expanded approaches to exhibition-making, foregrounding marginalised perspectives in contemporary art. Martin holds an MA in Visual Culture and a BA in China Studies from the University of Copenhagen, with additional studies in art history at the University of Hong Kong and language at BISU in Beijing.

In 2018, Martin founded the art association Tofu Collective, and together with his partner Regen Li, opened and operated Tofu Space (2023 – 2025), a cross-cultural exhibition platform housed in the premises of Gammel Strand. Along the way, they have realised a wide range of exhibitions and public programmes with internationally renowned artists such as LG Guggenheim winner Shu Lea Cheang, Turner Prize nominee Sin Wai Kin, Taipei Art Awards winner Manbo Key, and Taishin Arts Award recipient Su Hui-Yu. In 2024, they published Typhoon – In the Eye of Taiwan’s New Artistic Whirlwinds in collaboration with the publishing house dmp editions in Taipei.

Together with Regen Li, Martin Wendelbo is the curator of Vroom Vroom: A Total Story by Su Hui-Yu, on display Room Room from 24 April to 1 August 2026.
