BAR x :

Niels Munk Plum

28 May 2025 07.00 PM - 09.00 PM
Art Hub Copenhagen Thoravej 29, 2400 København NV

Join us on 28 May, when former AHC resident Niels Munk Plum will present the performance work 7 CIRCLES for the very first BAR x at Thoravej 29.

7 CIRCLES is a performance collage of seven actions that will push us towards the edge of meaning and communication. Working with different modes of performing, speaking and moving, the seven circles will, in various ways, address notions of creating a performance, becoming a figure on stage, and acting within a set system of rules.

The core is within that mode of shifting between systems, logic and emotion, body and speech – it’s the duality, or try-ality, in the acts creating confronting meetings and open-ended musings, making the audience relate, navigate and translate the acts.

ABOUT NIELS MUNK PLUM
Niels Munk Plum (b. 1992, DK) is a visual artist living and working in Copenhagen. Staging the body and language he works performance-based with discourses around participation in- and horizontalization of art. Plum interrogates the concept of artistic and institutional “expertise” through his performative and material practice, and has staged ambitious multi-medial interventions in museums, art academies, public, and artist-run spaces. With a BFA from Oslo National Academy of Fine Art (2020), he was the recipient of the FKDS studio grant at Kunstnernes Hus in Oslo 2020-21 and obtained his MFA from Malmö Art Academy in 2022. His graduate exhibition RIGID ROOM subsequently traveled to Stockholm to be a part of Konstväxlingar, an ongoing presentation of art in public space in a city metro station. In 2022, he was also one of three artists to present a new performance commission as part of the opening exhibition Jeg kaller det kunst at the National Museum in Oslo in 2022, with the work () New Loop (). Niels has also staged works and performances at institutions such as LARS (Lisboa), Podium (Oslo), Kunstnernes Hus (Oslo), Runde Taarn (Copenhagen), and produced several artist zines and publications. In autumn 2024, he was one of three residents at the residency programme at Art Hub Copenhagen.

ABOUT ANDREAS HAGLUND

ABOUT ASTRID BIRKEBÆK RAHBÆK
Astrid Birkebæk Rahbæk (b. 1997), is a self-taught actor from Aarhus currently living in Copenhagen. With her theater group Stamina, she has created different kinds of performances, all with a crazy ‘say whatever you want’-energy. She dares where no one does, and is not afraid of speaking about traumas among other things. Astrid has an education from HF-stage, a three-year performance school in Aarhus, and went to Teaterhøjskolen Rødkilde, Møn and Skuespillerakademiet, Copenhagen.

ABOUT BA BLADH
Ba Bladh (b. 1994, SE) is a visual artist and performer based in Copenhagen. Their practice navigates ramping societal technification and libidinal immediacy embedded in the psychosocial. Bladh fuses historically (in)accurate symbols, concepts, and objects with an attitude of WTF. Operating at the threshold between analysis and myth, theory slips into fiction and the symbolic collapses. Through performance and installation, they assemble collage-like structures functioning as speculative ruins, narrating the (im)possible and staging the (un)stable. Bladh is educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. Their work has recently been shown at Hallen i Farsta (Stockholm), Vermland Basement (Copenhagen), and Skal Contemporary (Skagen).

ABOUT BILLIE MEINICHE
Billie Meiniche (he/him) is a current student at The Dutch Art Institute’s MA Art Praxis. He holds a BFA in Fine Arts from Malmö Art academy, and a BSc in economics from Copenhagen Business School. Working with sculpture, installation and performance, Meiniche’s work interrogate the systems that function by way of categorisation. The ways in which we make visible parts of ourselves or are demanded to be visible. How signs and signals define legitimacy.

ABOUT CARLO MOLINO
Carlo Molino / Lucky Lube (he/him) is the co-founder of Group Therapy, a Copenhagen based collective giving space to queer, femme and non-binary friends, artists & allies. His cheeky sound palette landed him gigs at TES Club in Tbilisi, Maricas Boiler Room in Vienna and the Radiant Records tour stop in Copenhagen at DAS where he’s a resident and most committed to nursing community and love for the D-floor. 7 CIRCLES is Carlo’s debut as a sound designer for a longer performance.

ABOUT FREJA ROSENLUND NIELSEN
Freja Rosenlund Nielsen is a self-taught actor, choreographer and co-creator in the theatre company Stamina. She had her debut as a choreographer in 2024 in the performance Hjemmekirurgen. The latest works she has been part of is Afslag, Lysten Til At Smadre Noget and Hun er Min Søster. She was also a performer with Niels in several of the events in the exhibition RIGID ROOM in 2022.

ABOUT SIGRID LERCHE
Sigrid Lerche is a visual artist based in Copenhagen, educated from the Art Academy in Bergen. She works in the intersection between performative art, set-design and worldbuilding – often with a playful approach to the darkness, character work and collective creation. Through cross-aesthetic projects she explores the borders between reality and fiction and laughter and pain.
