Su Hui-Yu: The Trio Hall, 2025
Come celebrate the finissage of ‘Vroom Vroom: A Total Story by Su Hui-Yu’ with a talk and film screening on Saturday, 1 August!
The exhibition's curators, Martin Wendelbo and Regen Li of Tofu Collective, will discuss the themes and development of the exhibition in a conversation moderated by Mads Mikkelsen, Head of programme at CPH:DOX. The talk will be followed by the first screening of a film work developed throughout the exhibition.
Evolving from the first iteration, premiered under the title The Trio Hall at the 75th Berlinale in 2023, Su Hui-Yu’s eccentric Cold War revue takes the Danish media archives under loving inspection. From an extraterrestrial reimagining of 90-års fødselsdag to a musical act fueled by punk defiance, performances recorded live during the exhibition Vroom Vroom: A Total Story are unveiled for the first time in a feature film, alongside footage from the exhibitions in Taipei and Colombia.
On this very last day of the exhibition, the resulting film will be screened across multiple screens in the space itself, surrounding the three rooms built for the exhibition: the control room, the makeup room, and the TV studio.
