On Tuesday 14 June Art Hub Copenhagen is hosting a Free Lunch in collaboration with artist Javier Alvarez Sagredo.
The talk during lunch will be based on their shared reflections about associative poetry with clay and painting as performance, in relation to their recent work "Untitled (Only shadow can judge me)" presented at Art Hub as part of the exhibition series THE ONES WHO EXIST DESPITE OF OR BECAUSE OF OR INSTEAD OF OR AFTER THE FACT OF curated by Arrange the Ants.
During the dialogue there will be a reading from Javier's debut book "Trauma" and a screening of their latest video piece "Baby".
Javier Alvarez Sagredo has invited gallerist and curator Matteo Cantarella to participate in the talk.
“Untitled (Only shadow can judge me)” can be seen in the windows of Art Hub from 8 June until 30 June.

ABOUT JAVIER ALVAREZ SAGREDO
Javier Alvarez Sagredo (b.1994) is a Chilean-Swedish multidisciplinary artist. Their practice is based on a continuous search for an aesthetically language that deals with concepts in the field of social and political philosophy. Javier’s artistic work investigates the framework of storytelling and seeks to unleash the repressed voices of youth, minority, and statelessness. Their work acts as a critical observation towards the traditions of contemporary art and how it relates to statelessness, alienation, and noise. Central to their work is the orchestration of personal experiences with material, rhythm, and echo animated in still image.
Javier Alvarez Sagredo holds an MFA (2021) from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. They have recently exhibited at Kunsthal Kongegaarden (Korsør), Udstillingsstedet Sydhavn Station (Copenhagen), Villa Kultur (Copenhagen) and Kummelholmen (Stockholm).
