On Saturday, 25 May, PRICE presented the musical performance A Repressed Repertoire (sequences) in collaboration with violist and composer Pauline Hogstrand, musician Bonnie Banane and visual artist and performer Cassie Augusta Jørgensen.
PRICE, Bonnie Banane, Pauline Hogstrand and Cassie Augusta Jørgensen met at a table and spoke. Repeatedly broken by sonic interludes, the individuals re-entered the space in a morphing tableau vivant, loaded with the affective archive of popular culture. The performance explored the performative force of language by focusing on sound over meaning.
PRICE critiques today’s dominant global lingua franca. The work suggests we experience the world affectively first, highlighting how we are influenced by language from the start.

ABOUT PRICE
PRICE (b. 1986, Rio de Janeiro) creates encounters between performer and audience. With references from pop, fashion, and internet cultures and marked by theatrical aesthetics, PRICE is interested in the ways that authenticity and affect are manufactured by performers and points to how these tropes can be unmasked and reclaimed.
ABOUT BONNIE BANANE
Since her first single “Muscles” in 2012, to her newly released album ‘Nini’, Bonnie Banane has traversed the French musical landscape with a style that belongs only to her. She moves beyond genres, juggling between R&B, chanson, and jazz. In her practice it’s the words that fuel her melodies, like incantations. Inspired by her surroundings, her own story, and those of others she cultivates the art of being enigmatic and sexy.

Pauline Hogstrand composes and performs with playfulness and clarity of vision. Her solo works implement composed structures in cyclic and extended forms for varied instrumentations ranging from strings, recorder, pipes, percussive instruments and synthesis, in electroacoustic and acoustic formats. Her compositions explore the inherent spectral properties of sound and their ability to transcend time and space, body and unitary. In 2020 Pauline Hogstrand released her debut album “The Enterer’, in collaboration with the Copenhagen based labels No Technique and Forlaget Kornmod. Her second album “Áhkká” was released in September 2023 at Warm Winters Ltd. and has been received critically acclaimed.
ABOUT CASSIE AUGUSTA JØRGENSEN
Cassie Augusta Jørgensen (b. 1991, Copenhagen) works as a dancer, visual artist and choreographer. She has perfected her showgirl-ship through working with theatre, art and dance makers like Ligia Lewis, Leila Hekmat and Rory Pilgrim. Jørgensen has a trained background in classical and modern dance and lived and studied at the Alvin Ailey School of Dance in New York for many years. She works from the imagination of her inside eye, deep, sweaty and long improv sessions. Her own work touches on Christian morals, porn, people that inspire her. She works on the rebuke of film, dance and theater history. She loves the old magazines from the 70’s and 80’s from where a duality of worlds collide, like transsexual fetish and the ability and access to hormone replacement therapy, before it was trans girls were recognized by the NHS, world wide. Cassie draws choreographic information from other dancers like Valeska Gert, Asta Nielsen, Lindsey Kemp and other mime legends, females and of course being a trans girl drawn to tragedy in all its vibrancy. Jørgensen’s desire and goal is to make holes and ambiguous space in film and dance history through expanding the performative field, into pictures, installation, costume, sound and to meditate on new narratives and fiction of live performance and shapes. Cassie Augusta Jørgensen lives and works in Berlin.
