Based in Copenhagen, the artist Maria Nørholm Ramouk works mainly in Denmark and Morocco. Using the history of her family as the basis for her work, Ramouk explores how resources affect the communities with which we identify, and how these groups are organised internally. What fascinates Ramouk is how social contexts, social heritage, resources and cultural relations are intertwined. Recurring subjects in Ramouk’s work include loneliness, finding security in communities and repetitions. She usually presents her work in media such as performance, text and installation.
