Florinda Ciucio (BE)

Artist

Program

Florinda Ciucio is an artist working with moving image, sound, photography, CGI, AI, archival material, and installation. She creates work that explores how our perception of reality is shaped through images on your phone, television, memory, imagination, etc. In her work, she makes visible the hidden structures of contemporary information systems and image construction, and their impact on perception of everyday reality.

As a visual language, she often works with landscape, not approached as a neutral backdrop, but as a territory where these reflections and observations can be examined. Influenced by her background in cinema, her work often uses fixed frames, slow rhythms, and darkened spaces that encourage sensorial immersion.

Ultimately through combining slowness, ritual, imagination and poetic visual languages with society’s relation to technology, she explores the tension between technological development and human sensitivity.
