OCAC (TW)

Artist run exhibition space

OCAC (Open Contemporary Art Center) was founded in 2001 in Taipei, Taiwan by a group of artists seeking to develop a theory of practice. Rooted in the belief that contemporary art is deeply integrated into daily life, OCAC strives to engage and interact with the public through diverse forms of art, transdisciplinary exchanges, forums, research, and publications.

Its project-based residencies, held once or twice a year, bring together groups of 5–10 artists, with a particular focus on the Southeast Asian region in recent years. OCAC aims to foster a relatable and communal environment for its projects and residency programs, bridging its island home with the vast and interconnected landscape of contemporary art.
