Sall Lam Toro (PT)

Performance artist

Program

Sall Lam Toro (they/them) born in 1990 in Portugal, Braganza, based in Copenhagen, Denmark. They are an anti-disciplinary multimedia performance artist and organizer working with the mediums of performance, dance, sound, textual and visual art for the past six years. Their work relates to producing and claiming the erotic as a way into decolonizing our body(ies) while finding strategies to create more accessibility to multiple visual and sensorial universes of the sensual. Their pieces (often collaborative and participatory) strive to break or overcome the consequences of coloniality-based violence and oppression through rituals, shared economies of care, the engagement of the senses and establishing intentional relationships with grief and death. Such looks like developing political aesthetic multisensorial altars and acts that are often score-based rooted in butoh praxis.
