Art Hub Residency :
AHC x SKITSE : Art Drive : Filip Vest, Klara Lopez, Sigrid Stigsdatter & Luka Holmegaard
Two exhibitions, two performances, a reading, a bus tour and lunch.
Come to a very special ART DRIVE, featuring the visual/performance artist Filip Vest, the author Luka Holmegaard and the performers Sigrid Stigsdatter and Klara Lopez. The event is organised by SKITSE and AHC.
This ART DRIVE involves a trip to Odense to see Filip West’s current exhibition Changing at the exhibition venue M100, the basis of the day’s programme.
The trip will start in the bus. The author Luka Holmegaard will read extracts both from his books and from a performative text he wrote specially for Changing.
This will set the scene for the bus’s first stop in Odense – the exhibition – which deploys performance, sound, smell and installation to shed a queer spotlight on the concept of the changing room as a liminal space. The title Changing refers to ‘the changing room’, where clothes get changed, but so do the room and the bodies – from dirty to clean, dressed to undressed, moving in and out of closets and the stages of puberty.
Filip Vest has written a performance for the exhibition. The time in the changing room is frozen. The question is: How long can you spend taking off your socks and postponing the moment you enter the shower? We will watch the performance.
After M100, we will proceed to Kunstmuseum Brandts. Following a vegetarian lunch, we will visit the exhibition Under the Skin – a retrospective featuring the work of the seminal French artist, writer and activist Claude Cahun. We will also watch a unique performance, devised specially for our visit to Brandts, by Klara Lopez and Sigrid Stigsdatter.
