INTRODUCTION

Dear reader. Art Hub is an art institution that is still in its infancy, but it has ambitions to become an international hub for artistic production, research, and knowledge sharing. So, how can a homepage and visual identity support that process? Mirror ambitions? Communicate and make available the accumulated knowledge created in meetings in virtual spaces – and reality? Encourage new conversations across disciplines? And expand artistic processes to encourage interplay and pushback in discursive spaces. And especially invite the public into a generator of inspiration, reflection, and open dialogue.

Just over six months ago, we started working with the graphic design studio Alexis Mark, a design collective consisting of Marie Grønkær, Kristoffer Li, and Martin Bek. Together with Alexis Mark, we would like to introduce what will become Art Hub’s extensive and dynamic archive and media platform, where professionals and laypeople may learn more about Art Hub’s intentions and explore texts, videos, and much more. Everything is still under construction, but the foundation is there now, and we are pretty proud of the result. See the letter below from Alexis Mark describing their graphic design and ideological considerations in building the website. We look forward to seeing you at Art Hub!
