Open Call: AHC Studios & Workshops 2025
Date:
In January 2025, AHC will relocate to Thoravej 29 in Copenhagen’s Nordvest district, where we will be unveiling 14 new studios and several workshops for artistic production. Applications are now open for studio spaces and workshop access, available for 11 months. The deadline to apply is Sunday, 20 October 2024.
Since its founding in 2019, AHC has aimed to increase the availability of workspaces for professional visual artists. During our five years at Halmtorvet, AHC has hosted artists through an ‘in-house’ residency programme. Now, with our upcoming move to Thoravej 29 in Copenhagen’s Nordvest district, we can accommodate many more artists and better address the city’s need for studios and workshop facilities.
We are offering six of the 14 studios that AHC will be managing at Thoravej 29, along with eight workshop spaces for 11 months (from mid-January to mid-December 2025). This will allow us to gather valuable insights and thoroughly evaluate the use of the new studios and workshops during the first year in our new premises together with the artists working there.
Artists can apply for either a studio and workshop space, or just a workshop space. Please note that “a workshop space” grants access to all the workshops mentioned below.
The six studios available range from 10 m2 to 37 m2 and are equipped with a table, chair and WiFi. Four of the studios also have a sink.
AHC’s new workshops comprise woodwork, metalwork, casting and assembly, as well as a digital workshop, all overseen by workshop manager Rasmus Bo Nielsen. More details on the specific facilities can be found here.
With a studio and/or workshop space, you will become an integral part of AHC’s community of artists, curators and other art professionals engaging in AHC’s programmes and exhibitions.
Move-in takes place in the second week of January 2025.
