Awa Konaté is a curator, art consultant, and founder of Culture Art Society (CAS). Her curatorial practice draws on archival research, Black feminist pedagogies, and memory work, with a particular interest in interdisciplinarity and lens-based practices of African descendant artists and their resonance within global contemporary art. Konaté has formerly curated and developed several international exhibitions and public programmes for Serpentine Galleries, Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Raven Row, and Barbican, to mention a few. She has published widely, including in Third Text, Foam Magazine, Phaidon, with her writing also appearing in publications by Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation, Zeitz MOCAA, Brooklyn Museum, and more.
