Gro Sarauw is a visual artist, organiser and architect based in Copenhagen. She explores concepts of spatial justice in digital humanities and the transformational potentials of artistic research and practice. In 2021 her research initiative led to the foundation of Ghost Agency – an artistic research practice and advocacy for women’s rights in the digital age with the Mexican artist Anni Garza Lau.
Gro has exhibited internationally among others at the Armory Center for the Arts, US, 18th St. Art Center, US, Centro de Cultura Digital, MX, Pastor Projects, MX, Charlottenborg Kunsthal, DK, Kunstraum, UK.
Alongside her practice and initiatives Gro was chairing UKK – Organisation for Artist, Curators and Art Mediators in Denmark from 2015-21, where she initiated the development of a sustainable strategy for the organisation, focusing on diverse practices and mission oriented projects within the arts. She led the Enhanced Practice mentorship programme at the International Center for Knowledge in the Arts at the Academy of Visual Arts, Copenhagen. She teaches in art, media and architecture studies in Denmark and internationally. She has previously worked at OMA – Office for Metropolitan Architecture, NYC and other architectural offices.
Gro Sarauw has an MFA from the Fine Arts program at Goldsmiths University and Architecture degrees from Bartlett School of Architecture in London and The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture.
