Johanne Løgstrup (DK)

Curator, educator and writer

Program

Johanne Løgstrup, curator, educator and writer. A focal point in her practice is how the past is processed in the present. As a curator she has among other things created Museet er lukket, an exhibition on fluxux-artist, writer and art-librarian Knud Petersen (2015) and Vertigo Sea by John Akomfrah including the accompanying discursive programme Unfinished Histories (2016). Both exhibitions were at Nikolaj Kunsthal in Copenhagen. Her latest work includes the art project Let Us Speak Now by visual artist Kirsten Dufours – a video archive consisting of interviews with female artists and activists.

In 2021 she defended her praxis-based ph.d. “Curatorial negotiations about the role of the art museum under the conditions of contemporaneity – unfolded in an exhibition about visual artist Sonja Ferlov Mancoba” at Aarhus University. At Aarhus University Løgstrup has also taken part in the research project The Contemporary Condition.
