Maria Kjær Themsen (DK)

Writer & curator

Maria Kjær Themsen is art editor at Dagbladet Information and works as a freelance curator and writer.

She has written about Danish and international art for over 20 years and has published a number of books on contemporary art, including the critically acclaimed Berørt – om dansk kunst i det nye årtusinde (Touched – about Danish art in the new millennium), (Strandberg’s, 2020).

She has curated exhibitions both nationally and internationally, and in 2020 she won Bikubenfonden’s Vision Award together with the art gallery Rønnebæksholm for the exhibition Soil.Sickness.Society.

Since 2019, she has been teaching art theory at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. She is also editor of AHC’s publication about Tove Storch.
