  • Testing Ground (Participant in Bureau for Listening's event series, 2024)

Nana Francisca Schottländer (b. 1977 in Copenhagen, Denmark) works performatively and research-based with encounters and co-creational processes spanning species and modes of existence.

Central to her work is the use of the body as a living tool for research and creation. Since 2016 her work has explored intra-actions with other-than-human entities and phenomena such as rocks, fungi cultures, tide, soil, wind, plants and entire geographical areas with their inherent lifeforms and dynamics. In recent years her main focus has been research in and with landscapes heavily marked by human intervention in the form of extraction, production, relocation of matter etc. Through embodied encounters with different places and their interrelated patterns and material choreographies, she creates installations, performances, texts, choreographic works, public interventions and publications. Her work has been shown in various institutions across visual and performing arts as well as site specifically and outside of institutional frameworks.
