Regitze Engelsborg Karlsen (b. 1989) graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and the Jutland Art Academy in 2018. Karlsen lives and works in Sorø. Karlsen’s research-based work tackles issues such as body, politics, ecology, feminism, and materiality. In 2018, Engelsborg Karlsen received the 15. Juni Fondens Hæderslegat (an acclaimed scholarship) for her graduation work, Stenmagnet (Stone Magnet) and the Anne Marie Carl-Nielsen talent award for sculpture. Karlsen’s works have been exhibited at Den Frie Centre of Contemporary Art, Kunsthal Aarhus, Kunsthal Charlottenborg, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Spanien 19C, HEART, Kunsthal Nord and Vejle Art Museum, and she recently took part in the international sculpture exhibition, Sculpture in the City 10th Edition in London. During Art Week 2022 Karlsen will be showing the exhibition “Deep dive, fremkaldte lag” in Sorø.
