Program

Samara Sallam is a visual artist, filmmaker, performer, herbal nurse and coder based in Copenhagen. Through multi-layered narratives she investigates the social, cultural and political intersections of language, identity, body and violence, and how they influence the labels imposed on her. Some artworks can be interpreted through the concept of interactivity as her objects and installations depend on the viewer to interact by touching, eating or moving the artwork to complete the idea. Sallam holds a BA from the Funen Art Academy and is currently finishing her MFA at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. Furthermore, Sallam has studied visual arts at L’école Supérieure des Beaux-arts in Algeria and journalism at Damascus University in Syria.
