Sofie Amalie Andersen ^(DK)

Sofie Amalie Andersen (b.1989) is a visual artist graduated from Konsthögskolan in Malmö, Sweden and The Academy of Fine Arts in Oslo, Norway. She works with sculpture and installation, using a variety of media and materials to explore physical, linguistic and transcendental structures. She is also the author of the publication series GIORNATA, a literary magazine in the shape of a newspaper. In 2019 Sofie Amalie Rasmussen founded the exhibition venue SOL on the island of Bornholm, Denmark. She lives and works on Bornholm.

Sol is an artist run Space for Contemporary Art on the harbour in Nexø on Bornholm.Through collaborations with both national and international artists, Sol wishes to challenge established formats of exhibiting and at the same time strengthen the interest of contemporary art in the local environment. Sol opened during Spring 2019 and is run by the association Sol Nexø.
