Newsletter #28

Dear Reader, during February and March we have been testing a new residency: Wintanworks. It’s an exchange residency between Art Hub Copenhagen in Denmark and BlaxTARLINES KUMASI in Ghana. The plan is to keep the residency running each year in a month during the season called winter in Denmark and Hamattan in Ghana, hence the name “Wintan”. The residency was initiated this year with artists Sofie Amalie Andersen and Abdul-Salam Alhassan who each spend a month in respectively Ghana and Denmark, doing research, producing, giving talks, building networks, exhibiting and much more. How Wintanworks will develop in the coming years will among other things depend on the feedback from the artists involved in this first trial run of the residency. In this newsletter, Sofie and Salam has graciously allowed us to present an edited extract of their correspondence during the residency. Happy reading!
