Subterranean Wednesday Evening Video Art Club (DK)

Artist Collective

Program

Subterranean Wednesday Evening Video Art Club (Subterranean Video Art Club, SWEVAC or Subterranean for short) is a Copenhagen-based artist collective, facilitating workshops, lectures, readings and critique classes for recently graduated and young artist. To start with, the collective was initiated in collaboration with Sorte Firkant on Nørrebro and Katrine Dirckinck-Holmfeld.

In the fall of 2020, Subterranean was appointed to organize a series of public lectures and workshops at Art Hub, titled United in Unity, that continued their ongoing collective process and critic sessions hosted by Art Hub in the spring of 2020.

The series circulated around the topics of independent community building, connectivity and kinship in the digital age. Hereby a range of artists, researchers and technicians are invited to give a variety of answers on strategies to establish, continue and reproduce collective process-based learning and interconnectivity in the realm of the arts.

Subterranean Wednesday Evening Video Art Club is initiated by Tore Hallas, Lou Mouw, and Fabian Wigren.
