Applications are now open for the AHC Remote Residency in spring and autumn 2027. The deadline is Sunday, 20 September 2026.
AHC Remote Residency is Art Hub Copenhagen’s five-month residency programme for visual artists based outside Copenhagen. Like AHC Residency, the programme focuses on artistic development, knowledge sharing, and professional communities, while accommodating visual artists who have established their practice outside the capital and have their own working arrangements.
The residency offers a monthly fee of DKK 21,000 (including material costs), a programme of curator meetings, excursions, and workshops. Access to AHC’s workshops at Thoravej 29 and the opportunity to participate in AHC’s Open Studios are also available. Support is also provided for transport and accommodation when participating in the part of the programme taking place at Thoravej 29.

WHO CAN APPLY?
AHC Remote Residency is open to Denmark-based professional visual artists working more than 35 kilometres from Copenhagen as the crow flies. You must hold an MFA or have comparable professional experience.
By the start of the residency, you must have either completed your education or worked professionally in the field for at least three years. It is possible to apply as a duo – but please note that the fee must be shared.
AHC actively works towards an inclusive, diverse, and professionally engaged community. We support a wide range of artistic practices and artists at different stages of their professional development, and we therefore encourage everyone, regardless of age, ethnicity, gender, or sexuality, to apply for our residency.
You can read about accessibility at Thoravej 29 here, and about AHC’s policies here.
If you are based in Copenhagen, you can apply for our AHC Residency instead – read more here. Please note that it is not possible to apply for both residency programmes. The next Open Call for AHC Remote Residency 2028 will be announced on our website and social media in mid-February 2027.

WHO REVIEWS THE APPLICATIONS?
All applications are assessed by a jury consisting of three external artists or curators and two representatives from AHC. The jury for this open call will be announced after the deadline.
In 2025, the jury consisted of Kit Leunbach, Pauline Koffi Vandet, Guston Sondin-Kung, with Maibritt Borgen and Marie Braad Larsen from AHC.
Applications are assessed based on:
- The potential, complexity, and engagement of the individual artistic practice.
- The potential for the residency to accelerate the development and complexity of the artistic practice.
- The applicant’s motivation and readiness to undertake the residency.
- The range and diversity of practices and identities among the selected residents.
