Sara Sjölin

Thursday 28 October at 5 pm, artist Sara Sjölin will host BAR x at Art Hub, Sjölin will be accompanied by DJ Lord Soft, doing a DJ set - live from Basel!

At BAR x Sara Sjölin will show the video work Rose Marie Bricht Zusammen and connect it to recent aftermaths related to it. Rose Marie Bricht Zusammen is based on a wedding marked by laughter and confusion. Why is everyone present laughing and of what?

The work was made in Basel and has never been shown in Copenhagen.

The bar serves soft drinks, beer, and wine. Participation is free.

The event will be in Swedish and English.

ABOUT SARA SJÖLIN

Sara Sjölin (1991) is a Swedish/Swiss multimedia artist based in Copenhagen. Sjölin graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2018 and her main practice revolves around comedy and storytelling. She works with humor, tragedy, and sign-reading, taking her starting point in her own life and experiences of love and relationships with both people and animals. Sjölin's work process is characterized by a literary mapping of these relationships and stories in a very direct way where a balance is formed between poem, fiction, and reality.

Celebrating the intersections of multiple genres - some opposed, some related - Basel based DJ Lord Soft balances surprise and expectation. This creates a challenging yet accessible sound, arranged in a sometimes harsh but also gentle, playful manner.

Art Hub invites an artist or art group to present or perform a work of art. At BAR x the evening’s art program is accompanied by drinks and followed by a DJ set, providing a social, atmospheric setting for an intimate art experience.
