Twice a year, Art Hub invites three visual artists on a residency at our premises in Copenhagen’s lively meatpacking district, and right now you can apply for spring 2021.

Art Hub’s residency program is for emerging professional visual artists who want to develop artistically, as well as develop their professional network. The program is free of charge and includes a small grant for production and a liveable stipend, as well as the possibility of using temporary production facilities at the Ministry of Culture’s Danish Art Workshops.

Artists in residence selected for the program are offered:

  • A physical place to work and become immersed in their practice without any demands to produce.
  • An accelerator course that supports artistic development, networking, and interdisciplinary exchanges.

Our accelerator course includes:

  • Two to three studio visits by Danish and international curators the artist – in dialogue with Art Hub – finds relevant.
  • Exchanges with professionals in fields the artist – again in dialogue with Art Hub – finds relevant.
  • A public talks program with experts from other fields exploring the world of art in dialogue with a moderator.

The Art Hub team and our artistic advisor Mette Woller are available for sparring throughout the residency program.

MORE INFO:

Due to COVID-19 the first artist in residency program of 2021 is only open to artists resident in Denmark or Danish artists living abroad.

The residency period is from February 1st –  June 30th 2021.

The residency studios are located at our Halmtorvet premises in Copenhagen. Due to size they are best suited to research and deskwork, and less to projects or production that requires a lot of space.

The total stipend is 75,000DKK, comprised of five payments of 15,000DKK at the end of each month of the residency. On top of this production expenses of 15,000DKK can be negotiated.

We expect you to have your everyday working life at Art Hub, and for you to participate in relevant meetings, events, and dialogues. You can, however, plan short trips of a professional nature during your residency.

Based on the art practice of each successful applicant, documentation of your residency and relevant press materials will be made in collaboration with the Art Hub team and artistic advisor Mette Woller.
