Art Hub Residency (Jury member, Art Hub Residency fall 2024)
Andreas Nilsson is curator at Moderna Museet Malmö, and his curatorial work is often situated at the intersection of visual arts and performance arts. At the moment he’s planning the large-scale exhibition On the Absurd Drama That is Also Life, opening in October 2024 at Moderna Museet Malmö. At the museum, recent curated/co-curated projects include solo presentations with Moki Cherry (2023), Jimmy Robert (2023), Isabel Lewis (2022), and Merike Estna (2019), and the group shows Conditioned Movement (2022), and For a Fragile Moment – A Performance Trilogy (2021). Curated exhibitions elsewhere include the trilogy A Situation (Tallinn, 2019); Groundhog Day (Helsinki, 2017) and The Visitors (Võru, 2015). Nilsson has worked with art spaces such as Kim? – Contemporary Art Centre, Riga; SIC, Helsinki; Vermilion Sands, Copenhagen; and Tallinn Art Hall. He is also programme coordinator for the lecture series KHM x MMM – a collaboration between Malmö Art Academy and Moderna Museet Malmö.
