Cecilia Germain, born 1974, is a Swedish-Canadian visual artist living in Uppsala, Sweden since 2018. In 2006 she graduated from the institution of fine Art at Konstfack in Stockholm. Since 2005 her work has mainly been focusing on topics concerning colonial structures now and then, grief, healing, social justice and public health. Through analogue photography, text, installation, painting, performance, botanical interventions and olfactory art Germain investigates the past and the future of the diaspora she herself belongs to.
