Program

Julie Riis Andersen (b. 1988) works with paper, print and installation – approaching paper more as an independent medium and less in its traditional supporting role.

Sampling and reprinting images largely from waste and discarded material, such as commercial illustrations and mass-produced decor, she delves into the ambivalence and uncertainty of today’s consumer culture.

Julie Riis Andersen graduated with a MFA from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen in 2015. In addition to her artistic practice, she facilitates spaces around learning – creating critical awareness through the mediation of artistic processes.
